Our Process

Discover how our collaborative initiatives and educational programs foster higher standards in media integrity and accountability.

A team of diverse professionals works in a modern newsroom, facing a large glowing world map and using computers and mobile devices.

Phase One: Education

Understanding who owns and controls social media and news companies.  What are their objectives and goals?  How to identify mis/dis-information.  How to verify information from news and social media. The important role and obligation that journalists and news media have in protecting the truth and pointing out corruption.

Phase Two: Cooperation

Help our mission by identifying mis-leading articles, fact-checking, and reporting articles for further analysis.  Our growing group of world-wide information integrity experts can comb through articles that have been identified by our contributing members.  Our network of integrity experts work through first hand accounts of events and sharing of real time fact checking and verification.  As our network grows, the reach of our integrity effort expands as we work to improve trust and objectivity.

Phase Three: Accountability

Correct information that has been verified to be incorrect.  Mistakes will happen in a rush to be the first to publish a breaking story.  Identify and hold accountable those who publish false or mis-leading information willfully.  Use our member base to promote news and social media sources with high rates of accurate, unbiased information.  Accountability for “fake news” can take many shapes and can be applied through many channels.  Identify and report corruption so that trust can be re-built and News Fidelity can be restored.
